Drew is a passionate entrepreneur dedicated to making the world a better place. He loves to inspire innovation through collaboration and as a result has led multiple startups, including: a data analytics company providing software and services to electric utilities; a distributed renewable bio-chemicals company converting wood waste to energy and products; and an online media company dedicated to free-market ideas.
His experience is vast and varied, including as Senior Advisor for President George W. Bush at the U.S. Department of Energy, Vice President at Battelle for Energy & Environment Public Policy & Technology Commercialization; sales for a Fortune 100 company, Chief of Staff at The Heritage Foundation, Chief of Staff at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission for Denise Bode, and Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Don Nickles from Oklahoma.
Drew is a thought leader on energy innovation public policy and serves as a Senior Fellow & Director of Energy Innovation Programs at the American Council for Capital Formation. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Group NIRE (National Institute for Renewable Energy); and Board Member for the Institute for Responsible Citizenship, an organization dedicated to mentoring African-American men in college.
Drew has a degree in History from the University of Oklahoma, where he met his one and only wife. They have four children, are active in their church and community, including by serving as foster care advocates and providers. In all of his spare time, Drew’s hobbies include playing with his children, trying to stay fit at CrossFit,and sitting around a fire with friends.
Paul BurdickCo-founder, EVP & CTO
Paul has over 30 years of experience in the utility generation industry. Prior to joining Powerfield Paul was with Sun Edison where he originated and developed photovoltaic solar and wind projects, and led project acquisition due diligence. Prior to joining Sun Edison, he was a Project Director with AES Solar / Silver Ridge Power where he led teams developing greenfield solar projects and acquiring both operating facilities and development pipelines. Paul also managed company joint ventures and the sale of project assets.
Prior to joining AES Solar, Paul worked 24 years for the AES Corporation in various leadership positions, including Vice President of AES Wind and Project Director of various U.S. and overseas development projects. He has deep experience with a variety of generating technologies including coal, hydro, natural gas, pumped storage, wind and solar. He has been responsible for all aspects of power plant development including origination, financing, PPA negotiations, economic modeling, and land acquisition. transmission, interconnection, fuel and transportation contracting, permitting, land use, community relations, water rights, operations planning, and engineering and design.
He earned bachelor’s degrees from Vassar College and the University of Michigan in physics and mechanical engineering and an MBA from Georgetown University. In his spare time, Paul enjoys inventing new products, working on his farm, and an occasional and seasonal community fox hunt.
David is the EVP, Global Head of Project Finance at Sonnedix. He leads the Project Finance team which is responsible for organizing all debt and other non-recourse financing for newly developed or acquired solar projects and optimizing the financing for the company’s existing project portfolios over the long term. David is based in London and Miami, and travels extensively in Sonnedix’s key markets.
David has over 15 years of diverse leadership experience in private equity, project finance, operations, portfolio management and business transformation on a global scale. His expertise spans working with the capital markets, banks and tax equity investors, recently financing photovoltaic solar in the US. He joined Sonnedix from Precision Agritech Inc., a Los Angeles based company, where he was CFO. Prior to that he was at several renewable power related companies, the most notable being AES Corporation, where he was the Vice President Finance for Solar Ridge Power.
David graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University and holds an MBA from the university of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He enjoys playing with dog, Ginger, and generally just being low-key with family and friends.
Keith Wright is the Executive Director of the Millennium Water Alliance, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC who’s founding dates back to when U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell announced the U.S.’s commitment to the goals of the 2002 World Summit for Sustainable Development. Since then, the Millennium Water Alliance has been dedicated to the belief that no one should die or suffer chronic illness as the result of a water-related disease.
He is a global executive leader with more than 25 years of strategic and operational leadership of complex humanitarian and business enterprises in the U.S., Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with a track record of global leadership, innovation, and collaboration. Keith’s experience includes: serving as president of Food for the Hungry, Inc, filling national and regional operational leadership roles in Africa, launching an innovative business to accelerate business solutions to poverty, and governance leadership in one of East Africa’s leading financial institutions.
He earned a M.Sc. degree in economic development from Eastern University and a B.A. degree in political science from the University of Mary Washington. Keith is an avid and skilled fly fisherman and can find his way around most any river.
