How It Works

PowerRack is the only solar racking system designed from the ground up to maximize ROI on solar arrays of all sizes.

Designed for simple, tool-free installation, PowerRack systems can be deployed in just 4 quick steps.

Forget the concrete, construction, and geotechnical analysis; PowerRack gets systems up and running faster than anything else on the market.

How It Works

Step 1

Set & Space the PowerRacks

PowerRacks mount panels in single row landscape orientation. Row separation is three feet on average, but can be more or less depending on specific shading conditions. Once you know your array layout, get connected with our team to determine ballasting for your local wind risk requirements.

Step 2

Fill the PowerRacks with Ballast Material

Fill PowerRacks to secure the array. Any dry loose ballast material works just fine and can be placed by hand using shovels or with a machine such as a Side Discharge Bucket or a Slinger Truck. The amount of material needed for each PowerRack depends on local conditions such as required design wind speed and elevation. Generally it is between 250 and 400 lbs. per PowerRack.

Step 3

Attach PV Modules on PowerRacks

Attaching solar panels to our PowerRacks is as easy as 1-2-3. Simply slide the module onto the PowerRack, insert the mounting retainers, and secure the retainer tabs to keep it in place. There’s no steel, concrete, or hardware needed.

Step 4

Connect Mounting Retainers & Retainer Tabs

Once your PowerRacks are installed, an electrician will finalize the system connections. You can use your preferred electrician or PowerField Energy can connect you with one. Once a final PowerField installation check is completed, and you have approval from your local utility or municipality to connect, your PowerRack array is ready to go and start producing clean, affordable solar energy.
